3M MDR (Mini Delta Ribbon) Connector System

Challenger Components are pleased to offer the 3M MDR (Mini Delta Ribbon) system which is available as a fully integrated, high density, shielded connector/cable system designed for high level input/output applications where space is at a premium.

The system is designed for I/O applications where space on the PCB or panel is limited. Typical applications include personal computers, printers, telecommunications equipment, industrial controllers, and test and measurement instrumentation.

The 3M MDR system utilises a ribbon contact as a durable alternative to the more fragile pin and socket style.

The system incorporates EMI and ESD shielding via one step latching metal junction shells that discharge EMI/ESD before the contacts mate. Protection is further supported by a range of jacketed/shielded flat ribbon and discrete wire cables.

Connectors are available in 14 to 100 ways in a variety of boardmount and wiremount versions. A selection of complementary cables, backshells and mounting hardware complete the range.

The system is available as individual components including a unique cablemount, solder bucket connector accepting 24-30 AWG wire, or as cable assemblies that are designed to meet specific customer requirements.
